Job Description

LI’S WOK & GRILL is a restaurant in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. It specializes in authentic Chinese Cuisine like Szechuan Cuisine, as well as a variety of Canadian favorites.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise & delegate responsibility to kitchen staff
  • Prepare Chinese dishes and food, paying attention to the quality of food and presentation
  • Ensure the kitchen has enough inventory of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Ensure all equipment is working and functioning to its maximum
  • Assign staff to clean kitchen, and equipment and ensure sanitary hygiene is observed to its highest standard
  • Innovate/create new dishes and determine size portion relative to quality, cost, and reasonable profit from time to time when necessary to serve the changing market
  • May train kitchen staff when necessary

 

Employment requirements?

  • Completion of secondary school or equivalent program in cooking is required
  • 3-5 years’ cooking experience in Chinese Cuisine as either a Chef or a Cook in a restaurant, hotel or resort setting is required
  • Culinary certificate is preferred
  • Ability to make simple Dim Sum is an asset
  • Chinese/Mandarin is an asset

 

Job Details:

Salary?$16-18/hour, 40 hours/week

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Work location: Wolfville, NS
