We are hiring two welders for welding of pipes and other metals. 

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience

Languages: English

Experience:  1 year to less than 2 years

Work site environment: Outdoors, At heights, Confined spaces, Hot or cold , Noisy, Dirty

Work setting: Various locations

Responsibilities

Tasks: 

Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes

Interpret welding process specifications

Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment

Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications

Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal

Determine weldability of materials

Credentials

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate

Experience and specialization

Type of materials: Steel, iron and heavy metals, Non-metallic materials

Welding techniques: Resistance, spot or seam, Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)

Welding plastic, Brazing and soldering

Equipment and machinery experience:  Arc welding machine, Brazing machine, Gas welding machine, Soldering machine

Area of specialization: Cast iron and other metals, Machinery or equipment repair

Additional information

Security and safety: Basic security clearance, Drug test

Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle

Work conditions and physical capabilities : Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Hand-eye co-ordination, Sitting or Standing for extended periods and Overtime may be required

Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat
