 Schedule: Flexible Schedule – Day/night shifts, including weekends

Paid vacation days: 4% renumeration

 

 Skills and Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 year previous supervisory experience in a full service dining establishment;
  • Several years of serving experience in a full-service dining establishment is an asset to further hire and train personnel;
  • Completion of certificate or college degree in hospitality or food and beverage service is required for this position;
  • Work experience withing the Mexican food restaurant is a strong asset and preference;
  • Ability to demonstrate extreme organization in a fast-paced environment while acting as a team player;
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Guest focused, outgoing, positive, friendly attitude;
  • Able to work flexible hours in line with business needs, including weekends and holidays as required;
  • Serving It Right Certificate;
  • Demonstrate high personal integrity and strong business ethics;
  • Ability to pass and maintain a criminal record check;

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a Mexican restaurant -cafeteria;
  • Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures;
  • In coordination with Restaurant Manager, conduct all hiring for the Front of House staff.
  • Train and supervise all Front of House team members in proper service etiquette and test server knowledge with menu offerings;
  • Prepare weekly schedules for front of the house taking into consideration fluctuation in business and control labour cost;
  • Inspect and oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of all function space, public areas, and service areas;
  • Coach and train employees as well as provide disciplinary action when required;
  • Ensure proper record keeping, inventory and cash handling procedures are followed;
  • Hands on approach in leading the team with day to day operations;
  • Controls inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices accordingly;
  • Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner and ensure health and safety regulations are followed;
  • Submit payroll for Front of House staff before the deadline of each pay period;
  • Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies;
  • Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets or receptions.
