Skills and Requirements
- A minimum of 2 year previous supervisory experience in a full service dining establishment;
- Several years of serving experience in a full-service dining establishment is an asset to further hire and train personnel;
- Completion of certificate or college degree in hospitality or food and beverage service is required for this position;
- Work experience withing the Mexican food restaurant is a strong asset and preference;
- Ability to demonstrate extreme organization in a fast-paced environment while acting as a team player;
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- Guest focused, outgoing, positive, friendly attitude;
- Able to work flexible hours in line with business needs, including weekends and holidays as required;
- Serving It Right Certificate;
- Demonstrate high personal integrity and strong business ethics;
- Ability to pass and maintain a criminal record check;
Additional Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a Mexican restaurant -cafeteria;
- Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures;
- In coordination with Restaurant Manager, conduct all hiring for the Front of House staff.
- Train and supervise all Front of House team members in proper service etiquette and test server knowledge with menu offerings;
- Prepare weekly schedules for front of the house taking into consideration fluctuation in business and control labour cost;
- Inspect and oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of all function space, public areas, and service areas;
- Coach and train employees as well as provide disciplinary action when required;
- Ensure proper record keeping, inventory and cash handling procedures are followed;
- Hands on approach in leading the team with day to day operations;
- Controls inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices accordingly;
- Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner and ensure health and safety regulations are followed;
- Submit payroll for Front of House staff before the deadline of each pay period;
- Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies;
- Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets or receptions.
