Job Duties:
1. Welcome patients and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor, ensuring they feel valued and respected upon arrival.
2. Handle incoming calls promptly and professionally, providing information and assistance as needed. Direct calls to the appropriate department or individual with accuracy and efficiency.
3. Offer basic information to clients and the public regarding services, appointments, and general inquiries, maintaining a helpful and professional demeanor.
4. Manage the appointment calendar effectively, scheduling patient appointments based on availability and patient needs. Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth scheduling processes.
5. Collect and accurately record personal and insurance information from patients during the registration process. Verify patient demographics and insurance coverage to ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
6. Record relevant information and relay messages accurately and promptly to the appropriate parties, facilitating effective communication within the organization.
7.Confirm insurance eligibility and coverage for patients, obtaining necessary authorizations and referrals as required by insurance providers.
8. Prepare and send invoices to clients for services rendered, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in billing procedures. Calculate billing charges for services provided, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing guidelines and procedures.
9. Process payments for services rendered, including co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances. Provide patients with accurate information regarding billing and payment options.
10. Ensure the reception area is clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times. Monitor and replenish supplies as needed to maintain a professional environment.
11. Input and maintain accurate records and data in the system, ensuring data integrity and completeness in all transactions and interactions.
12. Support administrative staff with various tasks, including filing, data entry, and other clerical duties as assigned. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role is an asset
3. Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite
4. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
5. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
6. Good sense of customer service
