Job Description

Golden Uprising Construction Ltd. based at 512 Acland Avenue Victoria BC Canada V9C 2N4

is looking for 2 siding installers to join their team at earliest convenience.

Job Duties

• Complete the exterior assembly of residential buildings
• Install building envelope materials (physical separator between the inside and outside of buildings), outside cladding materials (such as flashings for waterproofing), and trims
• Install, repair and service exterior prefabricated products such as siding, shutters, awnings, fencing, decks, and other exterior structures using hand and power tools
• Attach tar paper, building paper, and other material to the building surface
• Waterproofs surface by filling joints or cracks with caulking compound, using putty knife, trowel, or caulking gun
• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
• Take measurements
• Cuts and trims material to shape when fitting siding around windows or corners, using knife, shears, or portable power saw
• Cut, shape and smooth material according to measurements
• Locating and marking studs and joists in walls to ensure the siding is installed correctly
• Follow instruction from trade man or supervisor
• Clean up the job site during and after the completion of the job
• Load and unload ladders, walk boards, and other tools/equipment

Job Requirements

• Completion of secondary school is required
• No experience necessary. We provide On the Job Training to the hired candidate
• Basic communication skills in English are required.
• Ability to lift & hold up to 50lbs, reach, stand or kneel, or climb and carry a ladder throughout the course of the day
• Class 5 drivers license is a real asset to have, but not mandatory

Benefits

As per BC Employment Standards Act 4% vacation pay of the gross salary each pay period. Transportation to and from work location can be provided at free of cost.
