JOB TITLE – Shipping Coordinator/Shipping & Receiving Lead Hand
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Shipping Coordinator/shipping and receiving lead hand in the Burnbrae Grading Station, you will have a variety of responsibilities. These include promoting a safe and healthy work environment, updating shipping information in SAP, shunting trailers, organizing workflow, and providing assistance to the team in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidates are required to have a high attention to detail and commitment to quality.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote and follow Health and Safety and GMP policies; ensure all tasks are performed safely; validate that all employees follow Burnbrae policies and procedures; report all near misses and incidents to the Supervisor and complete appropriate paperwork.
- Promote and follow the HACCP program regarding shipping, receiving, transportation and storage.
- Process transactions in SAP, including but not limited to Load Balancing, Completing Shipments, picking orders and receiving products and materials.
- Shunt trailers in and out of shipping bay doors.
- Organize workflow based on the needs of both production and shipping.
- Complete end of shift checklist to verify all tasks have been completed.
- Processes returns and daytime unloads,
- Get sales orders made to move dyed to BVP, create paperwork to ship eggs to BVP Dyed, and store egg paperwork.
- Audits IPVs for accuracy and inputs to a spreadsheet for tracking
- Operates as a shipping clerk.
- Direct loaders and confirm proper H&S procedures are followed.
- Have a sound knowledge of the picking areas and warehouse.
- Ensure that pallet jacks, forklifts and stackers are in good mechanical condition, complete Pallet Jack Pre-Operational Inspection
- Lead and provide assistance to team members as required.
- Report employee relations or safety infractions to the Shipping Supervisor, HR and Health & Safety
- Report breakdowns or malfunctioning of equipment.
- Ensure the working areas are free from debris and garbage; ensure cardboard, twine, paper, and other debris are picked up and recycled or placed in the garbage.
- Assist in other shipping and receiving duties as required.
- Other duties assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Previous factory work or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work within a team setting as well as independently
- The flexibility to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, and weekends
- Excellent work ethic
- Proven commitment to safety and quality
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well as a member of a team
- Ability to safely lift 30-50 lbs, bending, and twisting in a variety of movements.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- College diploma or apprenticeship training of less than two years or more than six months of on-the-job training.
- At least one (1) year of experience in the food industry and/or manufacturing environment is an asset.

LOCATION OF WORK
This position is based in Lyn, ON (3356 County Rd. #27, Lyn, ON, K0E 1M0) and occasionally in Brockville, ON (260 Central Avenue, Brockville, ON, K6V 4N8).
