MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In the role of Banquet & Bar Manager, you will be a pivotal member of our Hospitality management team, reporting directly to the Catering & Events Manager. The ideal candidate will assume a leadership role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of private functions and club events, as well as managing bar operations at Rosedale Golf Club. Your primary focus will be on the Banquet Department, ensuring an enhanced event experience for our members.

 

As the Banquet & Bar Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional events while upholding the highest standards in beverage service. Responsibilities include overseeing banquet operations, managing bar services, and ensuring the seamless execution of a variety of events, ranging from weddings and private functions to member social gatherings.

 

We are seeking an experienced Banquet & Bar Manager with robust hospitality industry training, credentials, and proven management experience. The ideal candidate will have a track record of developing and supervising a strong front-of-house team, ensuring the delivery of quality food, wine, and beverage initiatives in a high-end hospitality or member-driven club environment.

 

As a collaborative team player and leader, you should possess an outgoing, positive, and professional demeanor, gaining the confidence and respect of your staff and membership through open communication and superior service delivery. Your proven experience should extend to overseeing both short- and long-term food and beverage training, as well as implementing product and event enhancements. Familiarity with Jonas and other relevant computer systems, along with a strong grasp of cost management controls, is essential.

Responsibilities:

  1. Event Planning and Execution:
    • Collaborate with clients to execute flawless banquets and events.
    • Coordinate with the culinary team to ensure exceptional food and beverage offerings.
    • Oversee setup, service, and breakdown of events to ensure a seamless experience for guests.
  2. Bar Management:
    • Manage all aspects of the bar, including inventory control, ordering, and vendor relationships.
    • Create and maintain an innovative and diverse beverage menu.
    • Train and supervise bar staff to deliver high-quality service.
  3. Staff Management:
    • Recruit, train, and supervise banquet and bar staff.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Conduct performance reviews and implement training programs as needed.
  4. Customer Service:
    • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained at all times.
    • Address member and guest feedback promptly and professionally.

Full Time

 WAGE:

CAD 65,000.00 to 70,000.00 per annum based on a 44 hour work week. Eligibility for annual salary increase and end of year based bonus.

The Club will offer a competitive compensation package, including benefits (health, dental and life insurance) and defined contribution pension plan, depending on the successful candidate’s level of experience. Eligible for gratuity bonus. Paid professional development and clothing allowance.

EDUCATION:

Diploma in Food and Beverage Management

 

EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a Food and Beverage supervisory position in a Private Club environment;
  • Smart Service Certification;
  • CPR/First Aid Certification;
  • WSET Level 2 (or equivalent) Certification or higher;
  • Prud’homme Beer Certification Level 1 Certification or higher;
  • Court of Master Sommelier Level 1 or higher:
  • Strong knowledge of JONAS Management System and Jonas Activity Management;
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Microsoft Office platforms;
  • Display a positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations;
  • Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills;
  • Creative and resourceful thinking;
  • Continually strives to keep current with all aspects of food, beverages, service, communications, and management skills; and
  • Superior attention to detail.
