Key Responsibilities
- Offer technical support to users encountering hardware, software, or network-related issues; troubleshoot problems and guide users through solutions over the phone, via email, or in person.
- Manage and supervise the processes in the installation, configuration, and setup of computer systems, software applications, and peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, and routers. Ensure compatibility and optimal performance.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and system upgrades to keep systems secure and running efficiently.
- Develop and deliver user training sessions to educate users on software applications, systems, and best practices. Create user manuals, guides, and documentation to aid in troubleshooting and user self-help.
- Analyze and diagnose technical problems reported by users, utilizing diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes. Provide timely resolution or escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams if necessary.
- Document support interactions, including issues reported, actions taken, and resolutions provided. Keep accurate records to track trends, identify recurring issues, and improve support processes.
- Participate in quality assurance testing of new software releases, updates, or system configurations to identify potential issues or compatibility issues. Provide feedback to improve product quality and usability.
- Continuously update technical knowledge and skills to keep pace with advancements in technology, software applications, and support tools.
Qualifications & Skills
- A college diploma in computer, programming, network, or IT-related fields is required. Higher education will be an asset.
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in computer, systems, hardware, or other IT/technical support capacity is required.
- Solid IT knowledge and ability to troubleshoot software/hardware issues and perform software/hardware troubleshooting steps.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal, and written communication skills; must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users
- Must be able to effectively work under pressure, tight deadlines, and without direct supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and duties in providing technical assistance.
