Job Description

The Employee’s duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Performing such tasks as may be required to comply with laws and regulations and to implement Employer policies, as amended from time to time.

Operational Efficiency

  • Assist the Production Manager with daily operations such as ordering, scheduling and assigning tasks.
  • Consult the production schedule to determine the quantity and variety of items to be baked.
  • Prepare dough for baked goods according to the recipe specifications.
  • Ensure product quality and standard is maintained.
  • Bake dough and mixtures using the correct baking protocol.
  • Monitor the baking process and identify necessary adjustments.
  • Monitor inventory and place orders as needed.
  • Report any equipment-related issues to appropriate management staff.
  • Ensure orders are received and stored in an organised manner.

People Management

  • Supervise the bread team during production.
  • Demonstrate proper production technique and set a positive example for other members of the bread team.
  • Identify and provide training support to team members in need.
  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment through training.
  • Assist the production manager in providing a smooth onboarding process for new team members.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Experience leading a team of 10+ members
  • Overnight shift availability
  • At least 2 years of bread baking experience, preferably on an industrial scale
  • Has a CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years in Baking and Pastry Arts
