The Employee’s duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Performing such tasks as may be required to comply with laws and regulations and to implement Employer policies, as amended from time to time.
Operational Efficiency
- Assist the Production Manager with daily operations such as ordering, scheduling and assigning tasks.
- Consult the production schedule to determine the quantity and variety of items to be baked.
- Prepare dough for baked goods according to the recipe specifications.
- Ensure product quality and standard is maintained.
- Bake dough and mixtures using the correct baking protocol.
- Monitor the baking process and identify necessary adjustments.
- Monitor inventory and place orders as needed.
- Report any equipment-related issues to appropriate management staff.
- Ensure orders are received and stored in an organised manner.
People Management
- Supervise the bread team during production.
- Demonstrate proper production technique and set a positive example for other members of the bread team.
- Identify and provide training support to team members in need.
- Maintain a positive and productive work environment through training.
- Assist the production manager in providing a smooth onboarding process for new team members.
The ideal candidate has:
- Experience leading a team of 10+ members
- Overnight shift availability
- At least 2 years of bread baking experience, preferably on an industrial scale
- Has a CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years in Baking and Pastry Arts
