Real Estate Law Clerk (NOC 42200)

Shapiro Real Estate & Business Lawyers is a Greater Toronto Area law firm specializing in the areas of real estate, business transactions and wills and estates. The firm provides legal advice to individuals, entrepreneurs, businesses and financial institutions. We are seeking a dedicated and hard working Real Estate Law Clerk to join us.

 

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Location: 333 Sheppard Ave E #201, North York, ON M2N 3B3

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-time, 30 hr/week

Salary Range: $36.00/hr, paid vacation days and public holidays

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing various documents in Teraview including Transfers, Charges, Easements, Notices, Discharges etc.

  • Performing sub-searches of title and off-title searches.

  • Interacting with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other parties involved transactions.

  • Providing updates on the progress of transactions and addressing client inquiries.

  • Assisting with financial aspects of transactions including calculating trust ledgers, preparing statements of adjustments, and coordinating funds transfer.

  • Assisting with the coordination of real estate closings, including preparing closing agendas and checklists.

  • Liaising with various parties to collect and organize required documents for closing.

  • Drafting and amending all correspondence.

  • Preparing reporting letters and accounts to clients.

  • Staying updated on changes in real estate laws and regulations through ongoing education and training.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma is required.

  • 2-3 years of experience working as a Real Estate Law Clerk.

  • Fluent in English, and be able to communicate in any second language is an asset.

  • Proficiency with PC Law, Microsoft Office Suite, Teraview and Conveyancer.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, accurately and efficiently on multiple files.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to multi-task efficiently.

  • Strong attention to detail.
