Job Responsibilities:
- Develop design concepts that align with the client's vision and requirements.
- Develop and manage project budgets, considering costs for materials, labor, and other project expenses.
- Meet with clients to understand their preferences, needs, and budget for the interior design project.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 3D models and visualizations of the proposed designs.
- Ensure that the design complies with building codes, regulations, and accessibility standards.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals for the project.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and ensure that the design is being implemented according to the plan.
- Address any issues or changes that may arise during construction or installation.
- Choose appropriate materials, finishes, colors, and furnishings based on the design concept and client preferences.
- Analyze and solve design-related problems that may arise during the project.
- Anticipate and address potential issues before they become major concerns.
- Build a professional network with suppliers, contractors, and other industry professionals.
- Attend industry events to stay connected and updated on trends.
Eligibility Requirements:
- 2- 3 years' experience as an interior designer or related occupation is required
- College diploma/CEGEP in interior design, art and design or interior architecture.
- Pay close attention to details in design, finishes, and furnishings.
- Ensure precision in measurements and specifications.
- Effectively communicate design ideas to clients, team members, and contractors.
- Listen actively to client preferences and feedback.
- Adapt to changes in project scope or client preferences.
- Be flexible in finding creative solutions to unexpected challenges.
- Effectively manage time to meet project deadlines and milestones.
- Prioritize tasks and allocate time efficiently.
- Have a strong understanding of color theory and how to use color effectively in design.
- Coordinate color schemes to achieve desired visual effects and evoke specific emotions.
- Accuracy and client centric approach are crucial requirements
Location: Calgary AB, T3J 0J8
Salary: $32.50 per hour / 35 hours per week
Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours
Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period
