Experience:    

No experience is required. On-the-job training will be provided. Previous experience is an asset.

Driver’s License

(Class 1 or A)/Equivalent to ICBC requirement of Class 1 License, Air Brake (Z) Endorsement is required.

 

Basic Documentation Knowledge is required, training will be provided.

Duties

 

  • Operate and drive truck, to transport crushed rock, sand, and gravel to and from specified locations.
  • Operate a dump truck system, including hydraulic and steering systems, trailers, and load dividers.
  • Ensure that the materials are loaded correctly onto the dump truck in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures.
  • Maintain log work/rest periods spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
  • Inspect the dump truck before and after every trip, which includes checking the oil, gas and water levels as well as the lights and tires.
  • Perform pre-trip, on route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories such as tires, lights and turn signals and brakes.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs.
  • Manage trip reports, maintenance reports, inspection reports.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • May transport hazardous products or dangerous goods.
