Salary: $50,000 per annum ($25.64/hour based on 37.5 hours/week)
Job Description:
- Assist with full cycle bookkeeping and payroll functions for Gain Plus Accounting clients.
- Development of systems to accounts for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Maintenance of subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
- Maintenance of the general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
- Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
- Maintenance of historical records by filing documents.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings, recording of sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, payroll and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) transactions.
- Set up client files and assist with the completion of budgets and administrative planning.
- Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities and intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploads.
- Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, discuss with supervisor to develop resolutions.
- Communicate with governments regarding information requests, assessments and installments.
- Compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports.
Job Requirements:
One year of experience
Completion of a university, college or other related program in business, accounting or bookkeeping
