Salary: $27.50 per hour for 35 hours per week

Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Job Responsibilities:
- Accurately record and classify all financial transactions into the accounting system, including income, expenses, and purchases.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, which is a comprehensive record of all financial transactions.
- Manage accounts payable by processing invoices, verifying expenses, and ensuring bills are paid on time.
- Handle accounts receivable by issuing invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
- Regularly reconcile bank statements with the company's financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Generate financial reports, such as balance sheets, income, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the company's financial health.
- Monitor and categorize expenses, ensuring they align with the company's budget and financial goals.
- Calculate and process employee salaries, deductions, and taxes, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Assist in preparing tax returns and ensure that all tax-related documents and payments are submitted accurately and on time.
- Organize and maintain financial documents, receipts, and records to facilitate audits and financial analysis.
Eligibility Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is often the minimum educational requirement.
- Prior experience of 2 to 3 years in a bookkeeping role is required.
- A strong understanding of basic accounting principles and concepts is essential. This includes knowledge of double-entry accounting, debits, credits, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and spreadsheet applications, such as Microsoft Excel, is often required. Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks or Xero is a plus.
- One must have a high level of attention to detail to accurately record financial transactions and maintain precise records.
- Strong organizational skills are essential for managing financial documents, receipts, and invoices.
- Good mathematical skills are necessary for performing calculations and reconciling accounts.
- Effective English communication is important for interacting with clients, colleagues, and sometimes auditors or tax authorities.
