DBM Carpentry

We are currently searching for two Framing Carpenters.

 

Work Location:

Various sites in the GTA

 

Duties:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

 

Applicants must be able to demonstrate extensive framing carpentry experience.

 

You will be required to train apprentices and labours.

 

Work Setting:

Residential and Commercial

 

Work Site Environment:

At heights, confined spaces, noisy, dusty

 

Own Tools/Equipment:

Tools, Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/googles.

 

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

Handling heavy loads, physically demanding

Requirements:

Over four years of work experience

 

Terms of Employment:

Permanent Position/40 hour per week

Should be available to work a variable work schedule

 

Hours of Work:

From Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3 pm

 

Language of work:

English

 

Salary:

$ 47.66 per hour as per local 183
