Our hotel boasts 57 rooms with convenient outdoor entrances, ensuring easy access for our guests. Currently, we are looking for a qualified Cook in order to create a variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Your attention to detail will result in delicious meals and a culinary journey for the many people who eat at our restaurant.

Job Title: Cook

Wage: $18.75 - $20.75 per hour (Depending on Working Experience)

Working Hours: 30 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Starting Date of Employment: As Soon As Possible

Position Available: 2

Benefit: 4% vacation pay or 10 business days of paid vacation & free meals

Working Location: 4702 Lakelse Ave, Terrace, B.C., V8G 1R6

Job Duties:

• Plan, prepare and cook menu items from the menu;
• Supervise and train kitchen staff and monitor their work performance;
• Oversee the daily operation of the kitchen and coordinate the shift schedule of kitchen staff;
• Clean and sanitize the work area;
• Participate in menu planning and portioning of the dish, and provide garnishment;
• Ensure food quality meets the standard of Bear Country Inn;
• Monitor and manage inventory of food ingredients, supplies, and equipment and place an order in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school is usually required;
• Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks, OR completion of college or other programs in cooking or food safety, OR several years of commercial cooking experience may be required;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a great team player;
• Working knowledge of English.
