Job Description
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
- Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Order supplies and equipment
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- Clean kitchen and work areas
- Organize and manage buffets and banquets
- Manage kitchen operations
Work Location
- The job will be performed in the Mabuhay Supermarket & Garden Produce located at 3369 Kingsway, Vancouver BC V5R 5K6
Rate of Pay
- You will be paid $17.65 per hour
- Your wages will be paid in Semi-Monthly
- After 12 months of employment your wage will be reviewed and adjusted (if necessary) to meet the prevailing wage rate in our region
Benefits
- You will be entitled to Two (2) weeks of paid vacation per annum
- You will be entitled to Three (3) days of sick leave per annum
Hour of Work
- Hours of work will be 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (flexible schedule)
- Any hours over 40 hours a week will be paid an overtime rate of at 1.5x the normal rate
