Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of air conditioning and refrigeration units in trucks, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with standards.
- Conduct inspections and performance tests on truck-mounted refrigeration systems to verify proper operation and identify any issues requiring attention.
- Implement safety procedures specific to truck refrigeration systems, ensuring adherence to regulations to protect technicians and maintain safe working conditions.
- Diagnose and address technical problems with air conditioning and refrigeration units in trucks, performing repairs to ensure optimal functionality.
- Communicate with fleet managers and drivers to address concerns, schedule maintenance, and ensure truck HVAC systems meet operational requirements.
- Oversee the inventory of parts and tools needed for truck HVAC systems, ensuring availability and timely procurement to support maintenance activities.
- Document all work performed on truck refrigeration systems, including repairs, maintenance, and inspections, and prepare reports for record-keeping and analysis.
- Continuously learn about new refrigeration technologies, techniques, and regulations to apply best practices and improve system performance and efficiency.
- Procure necessary materials, tools, and equipment for truck refrigeration systems, ensuring timely availability to support ongoing maintenance and repairs.
- Recommend and apply best practices for truck HVAC system maintenance and operation, continuously seeking improvements to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
Eligibility Requirements:
- This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to less than 7 months of experience is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of safety regulations and protocols related to truck HVAC systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in repairing and maintaining truck-mounted HVAC systems.
- Ability to manage schedules, assign tasks, and coordinate work efficiently.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, fleet managers, and team members.
- Strong organizational skills for managing inventory, scheduling, and documentation.
- Willingness to stay updated with industry advancements and new technologies.
- Ability to deliver clear explanations and recommendations for truck HVAC systems.
- Physical capability to perform hands-on work, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various environmental conditions.
