Job Description

• Unloading, loading or cleaning construction materials, and removing dangers as part of site preparation.
• Assist in the unloading and loading of flagstone and slate supplies both manually and with the use of equipment regularly, and following supervisors’ instructions.
• Operate a variety of hand tools, including sledge hammers and other tools as directed by management.
• Split, pile, and wrap random flagstone on skids.
• Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel.
• Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities.
• Remove rough fragments of stone from work site.
• Clean and prepare sites as needed, including removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials.
• Shovel materials to and from construction areas, including stone and dirt.
• Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
• Perform other heavy-duty activities as directed by supervisor.

Education: No Formal Education Requirement

Job Requirements:  Some working experience in construction

Skills:

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads)
• Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.

• Punctual and willing to work long hours in a labour intensive environment.

• Willing to work in a team and work outside
