Job Summary:
The Equine Farmer and Landscaper position at our farm requires a versatile individual who possesses a deep passion for both horses and other farm animals, and landscaping. This role involves caring for horses, and the farm animals, managing their environment, and maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the farm's landscape. The ideal candidate will have experience in both equine husbandry and landscaping techniques, along with a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail.
The Role:
This individual will be responsible for the management of the livestock, cultivating the land to grow crops, and maintaining the landscape.
Responsibilities:
Animal Care:

  • Feed animals according to their individual needs.
  • Maintain clean and organized stables, paddocks, and chicken coop to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the horses and other animals.
  • Plus any other task as assigned.

Landscaping:

  • Plant and maintain gardens, flower beds, and ornamental shrubs.
  • Ensure proper hydration for plants and grass.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging to keep the grounds tidy and well-groomed.
  • Plus any other task as assigned.

Facility Maintenance:

  • Repair and maintain fencing, gates, and other infrastructure to secure the property and ensure the safety of the horses.
  • Perform minor repairs and upkeep on farm equipment and machinery.
  • Assist with general farm maintenance tasks such as painting, cleaning, and trash removal.
  • Plus any other task as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with horses and other farm animals in a farm or stable environment.
  • Proficiency in landscaping techniques, including planting, pruning, and irrigation.
  • Ability to operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform strenuous tasks in all weather conditions.


Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional certifications or coursework in equine science, agriculture, or landscaping preferred but not mandatory.


Work Environment:

  • This position involves working both indoors and outdoors, depending on the tasks at hand. You may be exposed to various weather conditions while working outdoors. The schedule may vary based on seasonal demands and client preferences.
