Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Cut, trim, clean, skin, and otherwise prepare standard cuts of chicken, meat, mutton, and fish to prepare the customer’s food order.
  • Grind meat and slice cooked meats using powered grinders and slicing machines as per requirement.
  • Weigh the meat and label the weights and contents of the containers.
  • Manage inventory, deciding on the quantity, range, and freshness of products based on the needs of the business and its clients.
  • Ensure that the storage of meat is in a clean and healthy environment and in accordance with the restaurant’s established standards.
  • Use knives, cleavers, meat saws, bandsaws, or other equipment to perform meat cutting and trimming.
  • Follow food safety guidelines and make sure food storage conditions are suitable.
  • Shape, lace, and tie meats and may wrap or package fresh or frozen or prepared meats.
