We are currently searching for an experienced accounting technician.
Position summary:
Reporting to the Executive Lead, Corporate Services, the accounting technician in reviewing and processing all finance, accounting, payroll, benefits, and reporting activities as delegated by the Executive Lead, Corporate Services.

- Knowing and following responsibilities and requirements set out in the Ontario Health & Safety Act.
Reporting any and all discovered Health & Safety hazards/concerns by following established process.

Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and processing routine accounting data while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance to provincial/federal requirements and standard accounting and audit procedures
- Administering all bank transactions and data recording monthly for all assigned portfolios
- Managing accounts receivable for assigned portfolios, including invoicing and collections management
- Assisting Executive Lead, Corporate Services, and/or other staff as identified by the Executive Lead, Corporate Services, with reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling of general ledger accounts
- Assisting in the preparation for all external audits, including audit working papers and backup, working with management and auditors as required
- Maintaining professional and consistent communication with government officials, banking officials, and staff related to financial matters where required
- Assisting with various ad-hoc duties and special projects related to the Finance department as identified and delegated by the Executive Lead, Corporate Services
- Working within their team and, if needed, cross-functional teams, to accomplish overall department and Agency goals
- Processing payroll on a backup basis as required
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
- Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
- Post journal entries
- Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
- Prepare trial balance of books
- Reconcile accounts

Permanent Position/40 hours per week

Requirements
- 2 years of work experience
- Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field
Salary:
CAD$ 30.46 per hour
