Responsibilities
Tasks

  • Inspect fire alarm systems to determine the requirements for repair.
  • Install smoke and heat detectors, emergency lighting, and exit signs, ensuring compliance with Electrical and Fire Codes.
  • Repair and replace defective or worn-out parts and components using hand, power, or specially designed tools as per CFAA & NFPA regulations.
  • Inspect and test fire alarm systems and emergency lighting/exit signs, as per Fire code and CAN/ULC standards.
  • Diagnose and locate circuit, component, and equipment faults.
  • Test and adjust fire alarm systems, for proper functioning.
  • Calibrate products using hand tools.
  • Complete work orders, test, and maintenance reports, and submit upon departure from the site.
  • Prepare cost estimates.
  • Inspect portable fire equipment as per NFPA.
  • Complete tags and sign logbooks as required by fire code regulations.
  • Properly record and maintain work records and all related documents.
  • Troubleshoot, trace, and repair various fire alarm systems.
  • Effectively communicate with other team members about job status.
  • Supervise other electronic equipment service technicians.
  • Read blueprints and drawings.
  • Provide customer service.
