We are very proud about our product, and always ensure that it meets our high production standards. Howard’s Foods Co-Packing is our packaging division. A comprehensive, fully automated contract packing operation producing over 150 products from start ups to major retailers in Canada and the United States. We provide support with “formulations, costing, product testing, labeling and anything else related to packing sauces and granular fills in bottles, stand up and pre-formed pouches.

 

Job Summary:

The warehouse supervisor is expected to oversee and coordinate daily activities such as receiving goods. They are expected to manage inventory levels by observing deliveries or taking counts when necessary. They are also responsible for ensuring timely shipping with accurate timeframes and standards that suit all parties involved and supervise staff members on-site during opening hours.


This person will need to show proficiency in leadership, decision-making, problem-solving skills, time management, effective communication, and teamwork.

 


Job Description and Duties:

  • Supervise, plan, assign and review the work of clerks engaged in the following duties: shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and maintaining inventories of materials, parts and products; processing purchasing transactions; coordinating production work; dispatching crews; scheduling transportation crews and routes and other related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures for safety and security, standards and regulations in force and participate in their improvement
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee’s performance
  • Organize and maintain inventory and storage area
  • Communicate job expectations and coach employees
  • Determine staffing levels and assign workload
  • Interface with customers to answer questions or solve problems and complaints, and implement corrective measures.
  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods
  • Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices
  • Confer and coordinate activities with other departments
  • Requisition supplies and materials
  • Ensure smooth operation of computer systems, equipment and machinery and arrange for maintenance and repair work

 

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-Time, Long Term

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week 

Wages:  $31.45 per hour 

Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations. 

Benefits Package: 

  • Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by employer.
  • Vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday on a semi-monthly basis.

 

Education, Experience and Language Requirements:

  • Completion of Post Secondary Education is an asset
  • Able to speak, read and write in English
  • At least 1 year of related experience

  • Standing for extended periods
  • Capable of lifting/pushing heavy objects weighing over 40 lbs

  • Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Spatial awareness and ability to navigate a busy kitchen
